Introduction to libxkbcommon

libxkbcommon is a keymap compiler and support library which processes a reduced subset of keymaps as defined by the XKB specification.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-8.3 platform.

Install libxkbcommon by running the following commands:

./configure $XORG_CONFIG     \
            --docdir=/usr/share/doc/libxkbcommon-0.8.2 &&
make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Now, as the root user:

make install

--disable-static: This switch prevents installation of static versions of the libraries.

--disable-x11: Use this switch if you have not installed libxcb-1.13 and don't need the libxkbcommon-x11.so library.

Installed Programs: None

Installed Libraries: libxkbcommon.so and libxkbcommon-x11.so

Installed Directories: /usr/include/xkbcommon and /usr/share/doc/libxkbcommon-0.8.2

`libxkbcommon.so`	contains the libxkbcommon API functions.
`libxkbcommon-x11.so`	contains the libxkbcommon X11 specific API functions.
