Installation of Caribou

Install Caribou by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr         \
            --sysconfdir=/etc     \
            --disable-gtk2-module \
            --disable-static &&
make

This package does not come with a testsuite.

Now, as the root user:

make install

Command Explanations

--disable-gtk2-module: Because GNOME now uses GTK+-3, this module has no use on a GNOME desktop. Remove this switch if you still want to build the GTK+-2 module.

--disable-static: This switch prevents installation of static versions of the libraries.
